Green Frog Utilities is Lloyds GIRS accredited for design services up to 7bar, however our design capacity extends beyond GIRS only design covering a range of applications across all pressure tiers.
Our team of engineers has extensive knowledge of the latest industry standards, specifications and legislation including NP14, IGEM, GIS, GS(IU)R etc. This wealth of knowledge enables us to successfully deliver a bespoke design service that will fully meet your gas connection requirements on time and on budget.

Technical advice
We offer our clients a free initial technical advice service, assessing your project and examining the potential for gas availability at the selected location.
From this assessment we can give initial advice and then move on to the next steps towards getting your gas supply connected.
Network design
As a Lloyd’s GIRS accredited provider, Green Frog Utilities is able to provide comprehensive gas network design solutions for any new connection, system alternation and service, operating at pressure up to 7barg. We hold UIP service agreements with all Gas Distribution Networks, meaning we can manage your requirements without boundaries throughout the UK. Our expertise is focused on the larger industrial, commercial, and power generation sectors.
Detailed design studies
In addition to GIRS design, Green Frog Utilities can provide detailed design studies for new connections and infrastructure undertaken on the UK’s gas transmission and distribution networks which fall under the scope of GL/5, G/17 and/or PS5.
Design feasibility studies
Sometimes, new connections will require a design feasibility study through which our engineers can assess the wide range of technical parameters needed to ensure that the lowest cost solution is developed for the gas load required. The conclusion of the feasibility study will be a robust budget and timeline for your gas connection.
LTS/NTS design studies
Green Frog Utilities has a strong track record in securing large capacity connections to the higher pressure LTS/NTS networks. Our experience and accreditations allow us to expedite schemes more quickly under the GDNs SLO/1 self-lay process. We have a deep understanding of the required steps associated with self-lay connections, and can offer design services for the four key design milestones which include feasibility, environmental impact, conceptual and detailed design.
Installation pipework design
Green Frog Utilities is Gas Safe accredited and our in-house design team offer a complete downstream gas design and installation solution – ensuring gas is piped from the metering point to the appliance, in accordance with the latest industry utilisation standards and legislation.
Industrial load profiling
Larger loads and advice on how to manage the profiles can have a substantial implication on the cost of a gas connection and the on-going costs associated with your gas supply.
Our engineers will assess all of these issues as part of the detailed design process.
Metering design
Our in-house design team has years of experience in developing metering solutions to best suit your requirements. We can design build and install metering solutions that cover any capacity and all pressure tiers, ensuring the flow of gas and data is optimised for your equipment downstream.
All metering designs are undertaken in accordance with the latest IGEM GM standards. Our subsidiary Green Frog Mechanical Services will build many of the meters we design.
